Terms of Service

1. Scope

This page sets out the deal between you and whoever runs tinydesk-ai.fun (see the bottom of the page). By uploading, paying or rendering you accept it, along with our Privacy, Acceptable Use and Refund policies.

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live in order to pay or render.

2. The service

You provide one to five photos, one per seat: the lead singer at a desk microphone, the keyboard player, two backing singers and the saxophone player. The room, the shots, the clothing style and the camera are fixed, and every empty seat, the lead included, keeps our own fictional musician. You receive one silent vertical clip in four shots: 19 seconds, 9:16, 720p.

The set, the musicians and every frame are generated for this site. No footage from NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, no image of the original performers and no part of the song recording is placed in your file, so any music is something you add on the app where you post.

Generative models are not predictable. Faces, hands, hair, headphones and gestures may differ from your photo and between runs, and waiting times depend on provider load. We do not guarantee a likeness or a delivery time.

3. Your photos

You keep whatever rights you have in your photos. You give us permission to store them, send them to our processors and use them to make your clip, and nothing more. The Privacy Policy lists when they are deleted.

Ticking the consent box is your promise that you hold the right to each photo and that every recognisable adult in it said yes. We rely on that confirmation and do not verify it.

4. Your clip

We claim no ownership of the finished clip. You may download, post and share it in line with the law, these terms, the wishes of the people shown and each platform’s rules, including AI disclosure labels.

Clips are private. A clip opens only in the browser session that bought it, or for whoever receives the optional save link from you. It is deleted seven days after it is ready, so save your copy in time.

5. Prices and credits

• A $8.99 USD purchase adds 150 credits; each clip uses 150. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
• Visitors in the euro area are charged €8.99. Other currencies may show Stripe’s conversion of the dollar price.
• Stripe handles card details. We receive the payment result only, never the full card number.
• Credits are not money: you cannot sell them, swap them or pass them to someone else.
• Credits are tied to an anonymous browser cookie that lasts 30 days. Deleting it, letting it expire or changing device loses them, as there is no account to recover them from.
• When a render that used credits fails or is blocked, the credits are returned to your session once, automatically. A slow render is still running; paying again buys a second clip.
• Cash refunds follow the Refund Policy.

6. Refusal and suspension

Uploads must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We may reject photos, cancel renders or restrict access when we suspect a breach, need to protect someone, or must comply with the law.

7. No affiliation

Tiny Desk AI is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by NPR, NPR Music or the Tiny Desk Concerts series, and has no connection to Charlie Wilson, The Gap Band, their labels, the creator of the first parody, TikTok or any other platform. Names are used only to describe the meme. Rights holders can contact us at the address below and will get a prompt reply.

8. Changes

We may change features, providers, prices or the service itself, or stop it, without notice. Price changes never apply to completed payments. Revised terms carry a new date at the top, and each render is governed by the version in force when it began.

9. Liability

You use the service in whatever state it is in on the day. Where the law permits, we make no promises other than those on this page, and if we ever owe you anything, it will not exceed what you spent here during the month before the problem. Consumer rights that cannot be waived still apply.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the People’s Republic of China, applied as the law of the mainland and not that of Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan. Please contact us first; most issues are settled by email. Disputes we cannot settle go to a competent court in mainland China.

This does not remove consumer protections that the law of your country of residence grants you.
